On the brand new British Gas light Van, rear tyre pressure 44 PSI front tyre pressure 34 PSI it has a Royal Warrant which says.

By Appointment to
Her Majesty The Queen
Repair and Maintenance
of Gas Lamp Lighting
British Gas Services

On the left is the Royal Crest and on the left of that

Gas
Safe
Register.

Could someone please tell me where I can get a Gas Lighting light pollution rejection filter?

Those rear tyre pressures seem to indicate that Gas Lighting units are heavy.

I do recall the gas lighting man going round lighting our street lights every night with the long lighting stick, but he must be getting pretty old by now if he still lights the Royal Gas Lights every night.

It may be every British Gas van in the country has this written on it. I never noticed this before.

Regards, David

There are certainly some Gas LAmps in private roads in London - some of the roads in Lincolns Inn still have Gas Lamps.

As for the filter I am not sure what the spectrum of a Gas lamp is - first thoughts were Black Body but thinking about it the mantle that emits the light is coated with some radioacive substance ( Thorium ???) to increase the light output. It may be it has some specific lines - the light is quite white for a body that is presumably not white hot.
