Hi I'm slowly getting the kinks out when dialling in on objects and I was wondering if it's possible to see the crab nebulae in my telescope I know I won't see the detail but just a smudge would be nice as I'd like to move to astro photography but knowing I'm getting on target's would be a brilliant

Your 200mm Newtonian can detect stars down to about mag +14. The Crab is about mag +8, so there shouldn't be a problem.
I've made out the shape of the Crab in 10X50 binoculars.

To my surprise, I found the Crab easy in my 5inch refractor back in 1971, albeit a grey patch. Still, my eyesight was keener back then :)
