20/2/19, 1814-1828 UT. Mainly clear sky. Observed from the upper west-facing window after the Sun had set behind Southwick Hill. Located Mercury using Nikon 15-45x60 spotter, also in 10x50 binocular and unaided- eye - it was very bright! An nearby leafless twiggy tree causes some problems and finally strips of cloud near the horizon swallowed it up. (Mercury Obs. #515). Regards maf.

21 Feb 2019 @ 18.00UT. Using 10x50 Pentax binoculars, Mercury was spotted in bright twilight, alt 10 degrees WSW and mag -0.9. Once located, proved to be an easy n/eye target in the clear sky between horizontal bands of haze drifting along the horizon.
